TRC abducts UOC church rector in Kyrdany village
TThe Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) promised to release a UOC priest after checking his documents but instead the clergyman was sent to a military unit.
In the Kyiv region, TRC officers, assisted by police, abducted Fr Mykola Matviyenko, rector of the Dormition Church of the UOC in the village of Kyrdany, reports the Telegram channel "Pershyi Kozatskyi".
According to the priest's relatives, police detained Fr Mykola as he was riding a moped to the town of Tarashcha. The security officers told the priest that he was allegedly not registered for military service, took away his vehicle and brought him to the Bila Tserkva TRC.
The detainee was promised he would be released right after a document check, but neither the police nor the TRC officers kept their word. The priest was held in the TRC building without the ability to contact his family, after which he was forcibly sent to a military unit in the Chernihiv region.
A reminder: the UOJ Telegram channel has published a guide outlining step-by-step instructions on what to do during the first three hours following an unlawful mobilization.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a hotline has been launched to help UOC priests with mobilization issues.
