Around 25 tons of food donated by believers of the UOC Volyn Eparchy arrived at Sviatohirsk Lavra on October 22.

Approximately 25 tons of humanitarian aid from residents of Volyn arrived at Sviatohirsk Lavra on October 22, 2026, the monastery's press service reported. The annual donation drive for the monastery's residents and refugees sheltering there was organized with the blessing of Metropolitan Nafanail of Lutsk and Volyn.

Parishioners of the Cathedral of All Saints of Volyn, the Cathedral of the Intercession, and St. Elijah and Sts. Cyril and Methodius churches in Lutsk participated in the initiative. Churches in the Kopachivka, Horokhiv, Rozhyshche, and Kivertsi deaneries of the Volyn Eparchy also contributed.

Archpriest Oleksandr Kondratiuk, dean of the Kivertsi district and organizer of the collection, accompanied the shipment. According to him, parishioners from the village of Chetvertnia in Lutsk district, along with individual donors, also joined the effort.

The collection took about two weeks. People responded enthusiastically to the appeal to help the Lavra, which is located near the front lines.

Believers in Volyn collected food and warm clothing for people displaced by the war who have found shelter at Sviatohirsk Lavra.

The shipment included food supplies such as potatoes, canned goods, and cooking oil. Believers brought their donations to local churches, from which the supplies were transported to Kivertsi before being sent to Sviatohirsk.

People also made monetary donations. Along with their contributions, Volyn residents sent prayer lists to the Lavra requesting commemoration of their relatives and loved ones.

As the UOJ previously reported, the Chernivtsi Eparchy also delivered humanitarian aid for refugees at Sviatohirsk Lavra. The previous shipment from the Volyn Eparchy arrived at the monastery in October 2025.
