Oleksandriia Eparchy hosts youth forum on family values
Orthodox youth from the Oleksandriia Eparchy prayed for peace and discussed building a family as a “little church.”
A gathering of Orthodox youth dedicated to family values was held in Petrivshchyna with the blessing of Metropolitan Boholep of Oleksandriia and Svitlovodsk.
The event began at the Church of the Intercession, which houses the relics of Blessed Confessor Iulita of Petrivshchyna. Participants gathered for a prayer service for health, the well-being of families, children, military personnel, and peace. They also received small icons of Mother Iulita, along with her life story and an akathist hymn.
During the forum, young people reflected on building a Christian family as a “little church.” They took part in a survey asking, “In one word, what does family mean to you?” and discussed the spiritual foundations of marriage, drawing on examples of holy families and the experiences of married couples.
The gathering concluded with tea and fellowship, during which participants outlined plans to further develop the youth movement in the Oleksandriia Eparchy.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that clergy and young people from the Oleksandriia Eparchy had organized a group bicycle ride.
