At the Theophany Convent of Kremenets, Metropolitan Serhiy led the festive Liturgy, concelebrated by five bishops.
On November 6, 2026, a solemn service was held at the Theophany Kremenets Convent of the Ternopil Eparchy on the day of veneration of the miracle-working Kremenets Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow", reports the Vinnytsia Eparchy.
The Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Serhiy of Ternopil and Kremenets. He was concelebrated by Metropolitans Agapit of Mohyliv-Podilsky and Sharhorod, Varsonofy of Vinnytsia and Bar, Victor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv, and Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh. Also co-serving were Archbishop Iov of Shumsk, rector of the Pochaiv Theological Seminary, the clergy of the Ternopil Eparchy, and guest clergy.
Praying at the service were the convent's abbess, Hegumeness Dimitria (Holiuk), other abbesses, the sisters of the convent, and numerous pilgrims and believers.
During the Divine Liturgy, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, the protection of the lives of servicemen, the Ukrainian people, as well as the Church and its faithful.
Following the service, a procession with the Kremenets Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" was held around the convent. The hierarchs, clergy, nuns and pilgrims prayed to the Mother of God for her heavenly intercession, peace for Ukraine and the spiritual strengthening of Orthodox Christians.
As the UOJ reported, the Holy Theophany Kremenets Monastery was founded in the 17th century. Since then, the convent has remained one of the notable centers of Orthodox life in the Ternopil region.
