Holy Synod of UOC thanks clergy and laity for participation in Cross Procession-2016
July 20, 2016, the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at the meeting decided to thank all the bishops, clergy and laity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church who participated in the organization of the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession for peace in Ukraine, as reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
The meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church chaired by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine called on all the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to participate in the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession, as well as to strengthen their prayers for peace, unity and love in Ukraine.
The attendees stressed the unacceptability of the use of any political slogans and attributes during the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession.
The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church decided to invite the President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Kiev City State Administration, the heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states in Ukraine to take part in the prayer service at Vladimir's Hill and other celebrations to mark the Day of the Baptism of Kievan Rus during the Cross Procession on July 27, 2016, in Kiev.
