Kibaki village council does not allow UOC community to build a church

The Kibaki village council (Chernivtsi region) did not give permission to the Holy Protection religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for the construction of a church. The district court has already recognized such actions on the part of the village council illegitimate, but the deputies force the issue.

"They say they will not allow" the Moscow priests "to serve in the village, – commented the local priest, Fr John Verenka. – Two years ago, they took away churches from our communities in the village of Milievo and Kibaki. They were handed over to the Kiev Patriarchate. Now we are denied permission to build a church."

In the village of Milievo, UOC services are held in the basement of the diagnostic center, which is under construction. Kibaki believers have no place to perform ceremonies.
