Ombudsman’s representative: Only the court can block the Cross Procession

To block the route of the Cross Procession through the streets of Kiev by law enforcers, as reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, is contrary to the law. This is written by a representative of the Parliament Commissioner for human rights Mikhail Chaplyga on his FB page, reports Glavkom.

"To block, to INTERFERE, etc. is possible ONLY THROUGH COURT !!!!!!!!!!! and nothing else! The police only have to comply with the positive obligations of the state in providing security and public order, not to feel powerless staying in Italy and, on the basis of this, to ignore the issue. Read the OSCE Guidelines on freedom of peaceful assembly!!!! Let's leave politics and religion aside. The question is only in the Constitution and the Law," he said.

We will remind, the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov declared the passage of the Cross Procession through Kiev banned in connection with the terrorist threat.
