At the center of their discussion was the creation of a Unified Local Church in Ukraine, Romfea.gr reports.

The U.S. Ambassador also stated that “the Orthodox Church can make a decisive contribution to strengthening peace and reconciliation among peoples.”

Archbishop Ieronymos, for his part, emphasized that in the church question of Ukraine, agreement and mutual understanding among all sides were necessary.
