Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, head of the Information and Education Department, called the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the Church "diverse" and added that it would not affect the activities of the UOC. It is reported by hromadske.ua.

Vladyka added that the UOC acts legally within the framework of Ukrainian legislation, as evidenced by the results of searches by the SBU.

“As a result of these checks, no weapons, SRGs, or other things were found to indicate that the believers of our Church pose some kind of threat to Ukrainian statehood,” he stressed.

Metropolitan Clement also recalled that the UOC, according to all constituent documents, is independent and autonomous and is not subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate.

“Based on the above, we can say that the checks that will take place do not concern us,” the hierarch of the UOC summed up.

Recall that the President put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on restrictive measures and sanctions against the UOC.
