Human rights defender Viktoria Kokhanovska

Nikita Chekman, a lawyer at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, wrote on his Telegram channel that law enforcement officials have given the Orthodox human rights defender Viktoria Kokhanovska a suspicion in another criminal case.

According to him, Kokhanovska was informed of suspicion under Article 161(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional actions aimed at inciting national, racial, or religious hatred and enmity).

The lawyer also noted that Kokhanovska received a suspicion in the isolation ward without the participation of human rights defenders.

The article provides for a fine of five hundred to a thousand tax-free minimum incomes or imprisonment for a term of two to five years.

As reported, Viktoria Kokhanovska and three other defenders of the Lavra were informed of suspicion under the article "Hooliganism".
