On May 20, 2023, in the Chernivtsi region, armed representatives of the OCU beat the rector of the Holy Ascension Church of the UOC in the village of Rynhach, Father Seraphim Dumytrovych.

The Telegram channel of the press service of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy reported that armed representatives of the OCU attacked Father Seraphim, the rector of the UOC church in the village of Rynhach, and inflicted head injuries.

"The bloodied priest was last seen 5 hours ago. There is no further communication with him," reports the eparchy’s press service.

It is worth noting that since 2019, supporters of the OCU have made repeated attempts to seize the church from the UOC community in Rynhach.

As earlier reported, UOC believers of Rynhach village appealed to Zelenskyy.
