On January 23, 2024, around half a thousand believers of the UOC successfully defended the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the town of Kamin-Kashyrskyi, Volyn region, reports "Dozor_Kozak1".
The intentions of the raiders to seize the church became known to parishioners the day before, on January 22. Learning about the impending provocations, hundreds of UOC believers came to the church to defend it from seizure.
The raiders, dressed in military uniforms, were brought to the church at around 5 am in buses, accompanied by 7 patrol cars.
Parishioners reported that the invaders behaved aggressively and demanded the gate to be opened for them to access the church grounds.
After several hours of confrontation, the raiders left the church on buses.
At the same time, believers said they would continue to stand guard near the church as they fear a repeat attempt to seize the shrine.
As reported, over a thousand UOC believers of Kamin-Kashyrskyi celebrated the 300th anniversary of their temple.
