Criminal case against UOJ journalists ready to be brought to court

On July 26, 2024, the UOJ Orthodox journalists, who are currently in a pre-trial detention center, were presented with a motion to extend their detention by investigator A. Savenko of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The lawyers and the accused were also informed about the completion of the pre-trial investigation.

The volume of documents gathered by the prosecution during the pre-trial investigation amounts to about 30 volumes. The defense side will need to review these documents. Following the completion of this stage, the prosecutor will draft an indictment, which will be submitted to the court.

As reported by UOJ, the Orthodox journalists face life imprisonment.
