Ancient churches and other religious buildings in various regions of Ukraine are being neglected and falling into disrepair due to the absence of religious communities to care for them. Restorer Daria Lutsyk wrote about this on Х.

She commented on the situation regarding the Church of "Our Lady of Częstochowa" in the village of Demnia, Lviv region, the photos of which were shared online.

Lutsyk noted that the core of the problem lies in the need to repurpose the building to serve the current needs of the community if there is no congregation for the church.

“To save it, we need to understand what function it will serve. There is no Catholic community in the village, so maintaining it as a religious structure is impractical,” the restorer wrote.

According to her, "the local community does not plan to allocate funds for restoration" as they have not yet decided on the functional purpose of the building.

Earlier, the UOJ reported on how Vatican representatives in Ukraine are undermining the authority of the Pope.
