On November 29, 2024, faculty members and students of Kharkiv Theological Seminary took part in the International Conference of Young Scholars on Local History, titled "Traditions and Current Challenges of Local History Studies in Ukraine." According to the Kharkiv Eparchy's press service, the conference was dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the founding of Karazin University and was hosted by V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

As in previous years, the conference section titled "Current Issues in Religious Local History Studies" was hosted by Kharkiv Theological Seminary, with participants attending both online and in person.

Seminary students presented papers in two sections: "Current Issues in Religious Local History Studies" and "Archives, Museums, and Libraries Through the Lens of Local History." Students from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, the National Science Center Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko, and other educational institutions also delivered presentations in these sessions.

The students' papers explored various aspects of religious local history, including the history and contemporary activities of churches, religious culture, the role of spirituality in society's development, and the activities of modern nontraditional religious movements.

"Nearly every presentation was followed by a discussion, demonstrating the participants' interest," the UOC eparchy noted.
All conference participants will receive certificates of participation.

"This academic event is important for Kharkiv Theological Seminary, as it gives our students an opportunity to participate in the scholarly life of higher education institutions, present research papers at the university level, and strengthen cooperation between the seminary and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University," the statement said.

As the UOJ previously reported, a conference marking the 225th anniversary of the establishment of the UOC's Kharkiv Eparchy was held in Kharkiv.
