On March 25, 2025, Tuesday of the fourth week of Great Lent, a monastic tonsure was performed at the Trinity Starosilsky nunnery in Volyn and at the Horodnytsia stavropegial male monastery in the Zhytomyr region. This was reported by the press service of the Volyn Diocese and on the Horodnytsia Monastery's Facebook page.

Metropolitan Nathanael of Volyn and Lutsk performed the monastic tonsure of three novices from the Starosilsky monastery. They received the monastic names Siluan, Theophania, and Nektarios – in honor of the Venerable Siluan of Athos, the Blessed Empress Theophania of Byzantium, and Saint Nektarios of Aegina.

After the tonsure, Metropolitan Nathanael congratulated the newly tonsured nuns and wished them God's help in bearing their obedience.

In the Horodnytsia Monastery, the tonsure was performed by the abbot of the monastery, Archbishop Alexander of Horodnytsia, vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis.

The new monk received the name Theophan.

At the end of the service, the bishop gave spiritual guidance to the newly tonsured monk.

As reported by the UOJ, on March 25, Metropolitan Volodymyr performed a monastic tonsure in the Kamyanske Eparchy of the UOC.
