Hearing of appeal in Metropolitan Arseniy case postponed to December 24

On December 17, 2025, the Dnipro Court of Appeal announced the postponement of one of the court hearings in the case of the abbot of the Sviatohirsk Lavra, Metropolitan Arseniy. The consideration of appeals regarding the extension of the preventive measure was postponed to another date, as reported on the official website of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.

On Wednesday, December 17, two hearings were scheduled in the case of the archbishop. At 10:00, the consideration of the defense's appeals against the decision of the Sobornyi District Court of the city of Dnipro of November 3, 2025, which placed Metropolitan Arseniy in custody until December 10, continued.

As a result of the hearing, the defense's appeals were rejected, and the previously made decision of the court of first instance was left unchanged.

At the same time, the hearing scheduled for 10:30 regarding the appeals against the decision of the Chechelivskyi District Court of Dnipro to extend Metropolitan Arseniy's detention for 60 days was postponed. A new hearing was scheduled for 10:00 on December 24.

In addition, it is reported that on December 22 at 10:00, a preparatory court hearing in the case of Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatohirsk is to be held in the Chechelivskyi District Court.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Dnipro court ordered a medical examination of detained Metropolitan Arseniy.
