An appeal was published on the official Facebook page of Bancheny Monastery asking the faithful to come to court in support of Metropolitan Longin. The monastery called on people to gather on March 3 and 4 at 2:30 p.m. outside the Hertsa District Court.
The post reads: “Dear brothers and sisters! We ask all believers to come and support Metropolitan Longin on March 3 and 4 at 2:30 p.m. near the Hertsa District Court. Your prayers and your presence are extremely important. May the Lord save you for your love and support!”
The monastery emphasizes that prayerful support from the flock is important for the hierarch during the court hearings. Believers are asked, if possible, to be present in person near the courthouse and support their archpastor.
Earlier, media outlets, citing a commission from the Chernivtsi Regional Administration, reported that no signs of violence were found at the children’s home affiliated with Banchensky Monastery. Inspectors said there were no threats to the children’s life or health.
Metropolitan Longin, who has adopted hundreds of children and has been awarded the title Hero of Ukraine, has previously said he was being slandered. The children from the home have also publicly denied the allegations being circulated.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Metropolitan Longin called on people to stand up in defense of Metropolitan Arseniy.
