On the evening of April 6, 2026, monastic tonsures were performed at the Holy Dormition Monastery in Odessa, the press service of the Odessa Eparchy reports. With the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, the rite was carried out by the abbot of the monastery, Archbishop Viktor of Artsyz.

During the tonsure into the great schema, Archimandrite Ephraim received the name Evlogy, in honor of Venerable Evlogy of the Kyiv Caves. Archbishop Viktor also performed a tonsure into the lesser schema: Hierodeacon Martiry was given the name Moses, in honor of Venerable Moses the Hungarian, the wonderworker of the Kyiv Caves.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that new monks had been tonsured at the Molchensky Monastery in Putyvl.
