On April 12, 2026, the persecuted community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Mykhalcha, Chernivtsi region, celebrated the Bright Resurrection of Christ in a repurposed village home, according to the parish’s Facebook page.

As noted in the post, the faithful were forced to hold services outside their church and arranged a prayer space in one of the village houses. Despite the difficult circumstances, a festal night service was celebrated there on Pascha.

The published photographs show that the room in the house had been reverently prepared – an iconostasis was installed, icons were set in place, and candles were lit. A large number of parishioners took part in the service.

After the service, the faithful gathered outside with lit candles and Paschal baskets for the blessing of kulichi and eggs.

In their Paschal message on Facebook, the parishioners greeted one another on the feast of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, wishing peace, kindness, health, and God’s blessing, and calling for unity in Christ.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that after being expelled from the Krupytsia Convent, the nuns have been praying outdoors.
