Holy Spirit Cathedral of UOC in Kherson damaged in Russian shelling

On June 19, 2026, at around 10:00 p.m., Russian forces launched a drone attack on the grounds of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kherson. The Information and Education Department of the UOC reported this, citing the press service of the Kherson Eparchy.
The blast wave shattered windows in the lower Transfiguration Church and damaged the altar section of the cathedral itself. In addition, two service vehicles belonging to the Kherson Eparchial Administration were completely destroyed in the strike. This is not the first time the cathedral has come under fire.
As the UOJ reported, St. Nicholas Church in Dnipro was damaged during a Russian overnight attack.
