On July 4, 2026, the Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Affairs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held another aid distribution for internally displaced persons in Kyiv, the UOC Social Department reported.

Humanitarian support was provided to 100 families. They received food packages and basic necessities.

The Social Department noted that it currently has about 2,000 families on its register. Its beneficiaries include pensioners, elderly people, people with disabilities, including those over 80, and large families.

Some families receive assistance on a regular monthly basis. Most of the displaced people assisted by the UOC come from the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv and Sumy regions.

The department stressed that for many internally displaced persons, such support remains an important help in overcoming the consequences of the war and difficult life circumstances.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the UOC launched a campaign to help refugee children prepare for the school year.
