The brethren of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra prayerfully marked the feast of the Nativity of the Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptist of the Lord John. The service in the church dedicated to Venerable Agapitus of the Caves was led by Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the UOC.

Concelebrating with Metropolitan Anthony in the Lavra were Bishop Dionisiy (Konstantinov), Bishop Arkadiy of Hostomel, and the monastery’s brethren in holy orders. During the Divine Liturgy, the clergy and faithful offered special prayers for peace in Ukraine and God’s blessing upon the Ukrainian people.

After the Gospel reading, Metropolitan Anthony addressed those present with a sermon. At the end of the service, the hierarch warmly congratulated Bishop Dionisiy on his birthday and thanked the brethren for their common prayer.

As the UOJ reported, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra commemorated Hieromartyr Vladimir (Bogoyavlensky).
