On August 31, 2026, in the village of Dzhurin, Zhmerynskyi district, Vinnytsia Oblast, a new church in honor of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, built by the UOC community, was consecrated. This was reported by "Pershyi Kozatskyi."
The Great Consecration of the church and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated by Metropolitan Agapit of Mohyliv-Podilskyi and Sharhorod. The community began construction after the former church was re-registered in favor of the OCU in 2023, leaving UOC parishioners without a permanent place of worship.
In 2025, OCU head Epifaniy Dumenko visited Dzhurin for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the church that had passed to his structure. Meanwhile, UOC parishioners continued building their own church, where services can now once again be held regularly.
After the consecration, Metropolitan Agapit congratulated the rector and the community on the completion of construction and thanked all those who had helped build the church. The hierarch presented church awards and blessing certificates to benefactors and workers.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the altar of the UOC Transfiguration church was consecrated in the village of Zalom in Zakarpattia.
