The Favor Charitable Foundation has launched a new fundraising campaign to provide food for Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) charity canteens in several eparchies, according to a post on the foundation’s Facebook page.
Foundation representatives say they have recently received a growing number of requests for assistance from charity canteens they have supported for years. More people are coming for hot meals, while donations are dwindling. As winter approaches, anxiety among those who rely on these meals is growing, and volunteers distributing food are increasingly hearing the plea: “Please help us. We have nothing to eat.”
The funds raised will be used to purchase groceries so the kitchens can prepare enough hot meals every day. The fundraising goal is UAH 180,000.
The foundation supports seven charity canteens: three in Kyiv and one each in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Sumy, and Oleksandriia. More than 1,000 people depend on their daily operations and the generosity of donors.
Donations can be made through the foundation’s monobank fundraising account or directly to the associated card number: 4874 1000 3514 7894.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Favor Foundation provided food supplies to a UOC community to help organize meals for those in need.
