On the situation at Sviatohirsk Lavra
After the killing of Monk Varsonofiy and the attempted murder of two other monastery residents, many patriots claimed that the crime had been committed by enemy saboteurs.
Azov commander Andriy Biletsky said that the Sviatohirsk Lavra is in the rear area of Ukrainian forces and that Russian soldiers could not have infiltrated the area in the first place.
“There has never been a Russian soldier in Sviatohirsk… everything is fine here,” Biletsky said. “The city of Sviatohirsk lies within the defensive zone of the 60th Mechanized Brigade of the Third Army Corps. This is the rear area of our corps.”
Biletsky recorded the video in response to Russian claims that their forces had taken control of Sviatohirsk. But what interests us here is something else.
After Monk Varsonofiy was killed and two other monastery residents survived an attempted murder, many patriots said the attack had been carried out by enemy saboteurs. Of course, the investigation will provide the final answer – if it ever does.
At the same time, however, we cannot simply ignore such a confident statement from Brigadier General and Hero of Ukraine Andriy Biletsky.
