Media showcases new reliquary for the Crown of Thorns in Notre-Dame
A new reliquary with an ultra-futuristic design was unveiled for the Crown of Thorns.
At the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, a new reliquary was presented to house one of Christianity's most revered relics – the Crown of Thorns, according to MSN.
The new reliquary, designed by French artist Sylvain Dubuisson, features a futuristic design resembling a spacecraft.
Before the fire at Notre-Dame, the Crown of Thorns was kept in a more traditional reliquary crafted in the 19th century by Placide Pousselgue-Rusand. On designated days, the relic was brought out for veneration by the faithful.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Notre-Dame de Paris was reopened in Paris after a five-year restoration.
