The Piraeus Metropolis believes that the Vatican was aware of thousands of crimes related to pedophilia but concealed them for many decades.

The Department for Combating Heresies of the Piraeus Metropolis of the Church of Greece has declared that the Roman Catholic Church is a "den of thieves."

In a statement published on the official website of the Piraeus Metropolis, it is stated that "the almost daily reports of scandals in the Vatican solemnly confirm our position that the Papacy is not, and cannot be, a Church, but rather represents a den of corruption and a haven for criminals."

"The facts that are coming to light are real and undeniable, despite the Vatican's dark attempts at 'black propaganda' – whether by trying to conceal scandals, be they moral or financial, or by attempting to downplay them," the document states.

The Piraeus Metropolis asserts that "the Vatican was aware of thousands of crimes related to pedophilia and child abuse, and for many decades concealed them, proving that not only the criminal Catholic priests are responsible for these crimes, but the 'Catholic Church' as a whole!"

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus, 80% of crimes against humanity are committed by the papacy.
