Patriarch of Alexandria congratulates the new head of Albanian Church

The Primate of the Alexandrian Church has sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected Archbishop of Tirana, Ioannis.
Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria sent a patriarchal congratulatory message regarding the election of the new Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, Ioannis, reports Orthodoxia News Agency.
In his message, Patriarch Theodoros expressed the joy with which the news of the election of the new Primate was received in the "land of the Nile."
"The canonical election of Your Beatitude signifies favorable sentiments and heralds a fruitful Primacy, as you have become the successor of your recently departed, highly esteemed Predecessor and spiritual father, Archbishop Anastasios – a church leader of incomprehensible spiritual greatness and an academic teacher of universal stature, who labored for the resurrection from the ashes, the human establishment, the stability, and, as far as possible, the peaceful continuation of the life of the Most Holy Orthodox Church of Albania," the message states.
"In anticipation of Your Letter of Peace, we wholeheartedly wish that your Archiepiscopate may be long and untroubled, in bodily and spiritual health, for the glory of God and the praise of the Christ-named Fullness," Patriarch Theodoros concluded.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Patriarch Ilia of Georgia congratulated the new head of the Albanian Orthodox Church.
