Until a court decision banning the activities of the Kyiv Metropolis is issued, its accounts and property remain inviolable.

On December 16, 2025, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) against a court ruling that had refused to impose arrests on the property and bank accounts of the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Metropolis’ lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, reported.

He emphasized that this decision “confirms the groundlessness of attempts by certain officials to apply unjustified restrictive measures” against the principal structure of the UOC.

Fr. Nikita thanked everyone for their sincere prayers and tireless support.

It should be recalled that on November 5, 2025, the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience filed an appeal with the Supreme Court against the refusal to apply interim measures in the case concerning the termination of the activities of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC. Earlier, UOJ reported that the court had refused DESS’s request to block the property of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC.
