The hierarchs of the UOC led the solemn Liturgy in the Rivne region; during the service, prayers were offered for peace, the defenders of Ukraine, and all those in need.

On December 21, 2025, on the celebration of the 28th week after Pentecost, festivities were held in the Rivne region on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Sts. Peter and Paul Church of the UOC in the village of Kvasyliv, reports the press service of the Rivne Eparchy.

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Metropolitan Serhiy of Ternopil and Kremenets and Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh, in concelebration with the rector of the parish, Archpriest Vasiliy Nachev, deans of the districts, and clergy of the eparchy.

During the service, the faithful offered prayers for peace and the end of the war, for the defenders of the country, as well as for those who especially need support and comfort – the sick, the infirm, widows, and orphans.

Addressing the parishioners, Metropolitan Serhiy noted that the shrine has remained a place where people bring their joys and sorrows to God, preserving faith and church tradition for decades. Metropolitan Pimen, in turn, thanked the community for caring for the church and emphasized the importance of passing on the faith to future generations.

The Sts. Peter and Paul Church was built in 1895 by Czech settlers who settled in Volyn at the end of the 19th century. Throughout its existence, the church has survived wars, changes of eras, and challenging periods for church life, yet it has been preserved and continues to be the spiritual center of Kvasyliv. The jubilee celebrations concluded with a communal thanksgiving prayer.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that His Beatitude led the patronal feast of the church of the Kyiv Theological Schools.
