Seized Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr transferred from UOC to OCU control
Huz stated that after being handed to the OCU, the Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr will be “Ukrainian and alive”.
MP Ihor Huz said that the Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr – from which the UOC community was expelled in 2025 – has now been transferred by the authorities “onto the balance sheet” of the OCU.
Huz called this decision “unambiguously correct and fair”. He assured that under the OCU the cathedral would be “Ukrainian and alive”.
The MP also said that the first OCU “service” in the cathedral will take place soon and will be led by, as Huz put it, the “rector” of that organization, Epifaniy Dumenko. Huz further expressed confidence that the Zymne and Nyzkynychi monasteries would likewise be taken from the UOC and handed over to the OCU.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the UOC continues its court fight for the Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr.
