In Ternopil, regional leadership and Greek Catholics discussed international communication and joint information work.

On January 26, 2026, the Ternopil regional leadership met with representatives of the UGCC and a delegation from the USA. As reported by the press service of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, the parties discussed possible directions for further cooperation and placed special emphasis on strengthening international communications with the help of the Uniates.

The negotiations were conducted by the head of the administration Taras Pastukh with the participation of representatives of the UGCC and the Ukrainian Catholic University.

The regional administration noted the activities of the Uniates in the realities of war, stating that they "consistently stand on the side of truth and service to people and Ukraine." They discussed the "important role" of the UGCC in communication with Ukrainian communities abroad and international partners, emphasizing the need to "convey to the world the truth about what is happening in Ukraine."

According to Taras Pastukh, the Greek Catholics' proposal to strengthen such international communication is "extremely valuable".

Following the meeting, the parties announced an agreement to deepen cooperation, including in the field of international interaction and information support, aimed, as was stated, "at serving people, supporting Ukraine's defenders and strengthening the state."

As the UOJ wrote, the TRC's ex-head, who threatened to seize the Pochaiv Lavra, was sentenced to 9 years.
