Zelensky congratulates Muslims on Ramadan Bayram
In his congratulatory message, the head of state recalled the persecution of the Crimean Tatars and noted the negative impact of Iranian attacks on international security.
On March 20, 2026, the President congratulated Muslims of Ukraine and the entire world on the feast of breaking the fast, Ramadan Bayram, on his Telegram channel.
In his congratulatory message, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that for Ukrainian Muslims, this feast has been taking place for the fifth year under the conditions of a full-scale war. He recalled that Russian aggression and the persecution of believers, in particular the Crimean Tatar people, began as early as 2014. According to the President, many people have to mark this day under occupation, while hundreds of political prisoners and thousands of captives remain in prisons on “fabricated charges.”
The head of state also touched upon the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing its global impact on international security. Zelensky specifically mentioned strikes by the "Iranian regime" with missiles and drones on peaceful cities and infrastructure, which were carried out precisely during the sacred month of Ramadan. He emphasized that Ukraine has already proposed security partnership to countries that have come under attack, so that "terror does not prevail anywhere in the world."
In concluding his address, the President wished Muslim families peace, resilience and prosperity, expressing hope for strengthening cooperation between all "defenders of life."
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Zelensky celebrated iftar with Muslims in a mosque during Ramadan.
