Archpriest Bohdan Huliak, who had previously been out of contact after being detained, has returned to his family.

Archpriest Bohdan Huliak, a cleric of the Sumy Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church who had earlier been forcibly taken to a territorial recruitment center, has been released and returned home. The diocesan administration noted that the priest was reunited with his family after events that had caused serious concern among clergy and laity alike.

The eparchy stressed that the favorable resolution of the situation was a testimony to the living faith and spiritual unity of the Orthodox community, and expressed sincere gratitude to all those who supported their pastor with prayer during this difficult period.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the rector of the Transfiguration Church in the village of Soldatske was mobilized on April 16, 2026, in the city of Trostianets while on a pastoral trip. The priest’s family was able to learn of his fate only after filing official appeals with law enforcement authorities.
