The faithful and clergy of the Sumy region purchased an expensive neuromyograph and vital medications for the regional children’s hospital.

On June 23, 2026, the Sumy Eparchial Administration announced the results of the 15th annual charitable campaign, “Bright Deeds for the Bright Day!”, during which assistance worth a total of UAH 1.25 million was provided to patients of the regional oncology center, according to the press service of the Sumy Eparchy.

Using funds raised by the faithful, the eparchy purchased a modern Modus EMG-3 electroneuromyograph valued at more than UAH 658,000. The new equipment will enable doctors to detect nervous system damage in children undergoing intensive anti-cancer treatment and monitor their condition throughout rehabilitation.

In addition to the equipment, the hospital received a large supply of essential medications, including antibacterial and antiviral drugs, medicines to support blood formation, infusion therapy solutions, and treatments for blood-clotting disorders.

“Such assistance is extremely important for providing proper treatment to our young patients,” said Liana Nikitenko, head of the hospital’s pediatric oncohematology department. “We are sincerely grateful to Metropolitan Yevlohiy and all the donors for their many years of support.”

For his part, Metropolitan Yevlohiy noted that the campaign has continued for fifteen years solely thanks to the generosity of people willing to serve their neighbors. He stressed that every donation was used strictly for its intended purpose and that all equipment and medications had been delivered to the hospital in full.

As the UOJ reported, the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC recently delivered 20 tons of humanitarian aid to hospitals and social institutions.
