Representatives of Dumenko's structure are attempting to present the demolition of the fence as their own initiative; however, the works only began after pressure from the city authorities. OCU "Archimandrite" Feodosiy claims that the community itself decided to make the square accessible for residents to rest.

In reality, Mayor Maletsky at an executive committee meeting directly stated that the church lands had been "oddly carved out," and instructed municipal workers to bring the plot into order. The mayor emphasized that the church territory would subsequently be "narrowed" to create a "tidy square."

As a reminder, the Trinity Cathedral in Kremenchuk was seized by OCU supporters on June 4, 2026, with police support. The raiders forcibly broke into the building, citing court rulings on the transfer of the community to the jurisdiction of Epifaniy Dumenko.

During the forcible seizure, UOC Archimandrite Yosyf was beaten. The attackers dragged the clergyman by his hair along the ground and threatened him with death. During the clashes near the church, a UOC parishioner was also injured and required assistance from an ambulance crew.

As the UOJ reported, the OCU called on the authorities not to re-register the cathedral in Kremenchuk back to the UOC
