Orthodox youth congress opens in UOC’s Rivne Eparchy

On July 13, 2026, the annual Orthodox youth congress opened in the Zdolbuniv Deanery of the UOC’s Rivne Eparchy, according to the eparchy’s press service.

More than 100 young men and women aged 14 and older will spend several days on the shore of a lake, combining communal prayer, spiritual fellowship, and outdoor recreation. According to the organizers, the location was chosen specifically to allow participants to step away from the distractions of daily life, spend time in nature, pray in silence, and grow stronger in the Orthodox faith.

The gathering began with a common prayer, after which participants were divided into six age groups. Each group has been assigned a clergyman who will accompany the young people throughout the event, lead Bible study sessions and spiritual discussions, answer questions, and help maintain the daily schedule.

In addition to the spiritual program, participants will take part in sports competitions, creative workshops, team games, group activities, and opportunities to build new friendships. Organizers say the main purpose of the gathering is to foster the spiritual growth of young people, strengthen bonds of friendship, and deepen their understanding of the Orthodox tradition.

As previously reported by the UOJ, an Orthodox youth forum bringing together 2,400 participants is scheduled to take place in Bucharest.
