TCC Released 52-Year-Old Rector of Two Churches in the Uman Diocese

After several days at the TCC, priest Mykola Yevtushenko returned home and was handed a summons for August 6.

The 52-year-old cleric of the Uman Diocese of the UOC, Priest Mykola Yevtushenko, who on July 21, 2026 was taken to the territorial recruitment center after being detained on the road, has been released and allowed to return home. The UOJ was informed of this by the priest's family.

According to them, Father Mykola has already returned home.

«Glory to God. The priest has been released. He just arrived, alive and well. At the Uman TCC they treated him well and fed him. Recruiters came who tried to persuade him to join the OCU or become a chaplain's assistant», – the message reads.

Also, according to their information, the priest was handed a summons requiring him to appear at the TCC on August 6.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that on July 21, police officers and TCC personnel stopped the vehicle in which Father Mykola was traveling, and after checking his documents, took him to the territorial recruitment center to verify his military registration data and undergo a military medical commission. For several days, relatives were not allowed to meet with the priest, being permitted only to pass along clothing, medicine, and food.

Priest Mykola Yevtushenko is the rector of the Church of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessaloniki in the village of Tanske and the Church of the Holy Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian in the village of Dobrovody of the Uman Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
