UOC dioceses held summer camps and theological meetings for youth
Young believers took part in theological meetings, prayers, pilgrimage trips and children's camps.
The dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held summer camps and theological meetings for youth. These initiatives helped participants deepen their knowledge of the foundations of the faith and spend their holidays with spiritual benefit. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.
In Kyiv, a youth educational project called "Theological Weekend" was organized, bringing together believers from different parts of the country. Archbishop of Bilohorod Sylvester, rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, addressed the audience with a report on the role of women in the Church. The youth also discussed questions of biblical studies and pressing issues of modern society with theologians and representatives of monasticism.
In the Mukachevo Diocese, by the blessing of Metropolitan Feodor, a theological evening around a bonfire was held in the city of Irshava. At the Vasylivsky church, young families, teenagers and children received pastoral advice on spiritual choices and the life of a Christian in the 21st century. During the gathering, the clergy and youth discussed questions of sincerity in faith and ways of overcoming the challenges of modernity.
In Poltava, at the Ascension church, the children's camp "Ascension Holidays" concluded its work. Throughout the week, the organizers combined communal prayer with creative activities, pilgrimage trips and active games. The camp became a place of spiritual growth for the children and a wonderful opportunity for receiving a Christian upbringing.
In the Volyn Diocese, in the village of Vesnіanka of the Kivertsi deanery, the summer recreational tent camp "On the Wave of Joy – 2026" was opened. The first day of the session was devoted to setting up the camp grounds, introducing the participants to one another and communal prayer. Before the camp began its work, clergy served a prayer service during which prayers were offered for the children, their mentors, parents and Ukraine.
Such annual initiatives in the UOC dioceses contribute to the strengthening of Orthodox youth. The organization of such events creates a space for live communication, learning and Christian service for the younger generation.
As the SPJ reported, the Vinnytsia Diocese held the Orthodox festival "Zion".
