Constantinople Patriarchate plans to open its Residence in Ukraine

In the near time in Kiev and, perhaps, in Lvov there can be opened a residence of the Constantinople Patriarchate. As the UOJ was unofficially informed, such a decision can be adopted at one of the upcoming sessions of the Holy Synod of the Constantinople Patriarchate.

According to experts, if such a decision has been made, this will radically worsen relations between the Constantinople and the Moscow Patriarchates. Some Primates of other Local Orthodox Churches, in personal communication with Patriarch Bartholomew, do not recommend him strongly to interfere in Ukrainian church affairs.

Recently chief of the UOC KP Filaret said that Kyiv Patriarchate will not be subordinated to Constantinople.
