Legoyda: ROC is ready for a peacemaking mission in Karabakh

On September 28, 2020, the head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Synodal Department for Church's Relations with Society and Mass Media, Vladimir Legoyda, stated that the Russian Orthodox Church is ready for a peacemaking mission in Karabakh, reports RIA Novosti.

“His Holiness Patriarch Kirill prays for an early peaceful resolution of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Primate considers important the role of the spiritual leaders of the two countries, who must make every effort to establish peace,” said Vladimir Legoyda.

He stressed that "the Russian Orthodox Church has always contributed to maintaining dialogue between the religious communities of Armenia and Azerbaijan and is ready to continue carrying out this mission."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church is praying for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
