Pope Francis has been invited to a summit on Ukraine in Switzerland, according to the Blick publication. This was announced by the President of Switzerland, Viola Amherd.
"I had an interesting conversation with the Pope in a warm atmosphere. In particular, we talked about the war in Ukraine and other hotspots in the world," she said.
When asked if the head of the Roman Catholic Church had given his consent, the president replied, "We invited the Holy See. The Vatican views the peace conference very positively."
The Vatican has not yet published information on whether the Pontiff will attend the summit.
As reported by the UOJ, a representative of the Vatican in Ukraine was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to the Pope's statements about the "white flag" and the need to negotiate with the aggressor.
