Participation of the Roman Catholic Church delegates in the "Global Peace Summit" in Switzerland on June 15-16 has been confirmed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

"We have observer status and are primarily focused on the humanitarian aspects of this peace plan. Let's see what it brings, whether it will lead to any movement towards peace," commented Cardinal Parolin on President Zelensky's initiative to convene the summit, as reported by Vatican News.

The composition of the delegation participating in the summit is currently unknown.

Regarding the swap of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia, which the Pope called for, the cardinal stated that there has been an exchange of lists, adding: "I do not know if there will be concrete actions following these plans. I think so, though it may be implemented quite slowly. However, dialogue regarding the prisoners is ongoing," noted Parolin.

As reported by the UOJ, the President of Switzerland invited Pope Francis to the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland.
