Zelensky thanks UGCC head "for active work"

On May 8, 2025, President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Sviatoslav Shevchuk, on his 55th birthday. In a letter cited by the ugcc.ua website, Zelensky thanked Shevchuk for his "active work for the benefit of Ukraine".

"Thank you for your active church, social, and public work for the good of Ukraine and its people. I wish you good health, well-being, and boundless energy," the President’s letter reads.

As reported by the UOJ, the UGCC head assured that Ukraine is a model of freedom for the entire world.
