With the blessing of Metropolitan Philip of Poltava and Mirgorod, Head of the Synodal Department for Religious Education, Catechesis and Missionary Work of the UOC, Orthodox children's camps in the Poltava diocese begin their work.
In particular, shifts begin in the camp "Orlenok" in the town of Karlovka and "Psel" in the village of Yareski of the Shyshaki district, the Poltava region. The first shift will last from June 24 to July 8, the second – from July 11 to July 25 and the third – from July 28 to August 11. Children aged from 7 to 15 are welcome.
During the shift, sports competitions, creative contests, concerts, quizzes, spiritual talks and classes in various circles will be held during the camp shift. In addition to outdoor activities and swimming in the river, children will be able to learn the basics of the Orthodox faith, the history of the Church and national culture, attend religious services and proceed, if desired, to the sacraments of Confession and Communion.
A priest is available in the camp during the whole period. Also for all campers, morning and evening prayers will be joint.
