New UOC church of St. Basil the Great consecrated in Krasnoilsk, Bukovyna
The rite of consecration and the festive service were led by Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna.
On January 14, 2025, the consecration of a new shrine of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of St. Basil the Great took place in the village of Krasnoilsk in Bukovyna. The rite of consecration and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated by Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, the Chernivtsi–Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC reported on its Facebook page.
Clergy of the Chernivtsi–Bukovyna Eparchy took part in the service. Before the Divine Liturgy, the hierarch read the appointed prayers and consecrated the newly built church.
During the service, Metropolitan Meletiy and the clergy offered prayers for peace on Ukrainian soil, for deliverance from the enemy, for the preservation of people who have been left without their homes, and for God’s blessing upon all who help those in need.
During the Small Entrance, for zealous service to the Holy Orthodox Church, by the blessing of the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, one of the clerics was elevated to the rank of protopriest. Parishioners were also presented with an archpastoral certificate.
At the conclusion of the service, a cross procession was held with the reading of the Gospel and the sprinkling with holy water. After the procession, Metropolitan Meletiy congratulated the faithful on the patronal feast and the consecration of the church. The consecration of the altar table in this church took place on July 13, 2024.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Dubove in Zakarpattia, the altar table was consecrated in the St. Elijah Skete.
