At the Zimne Monastery, an event was held in support of families of fallen soldiers

At the Holy Dormition Zymne Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Volhynia, families of fallen Ukrainian soldiers met with clergy and psychologists, the press service of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy reported.

Over the course of three days, the monastery welcomed around 30 participants – mothers, wives, sisters, and children of defenders who lost their lives during the war.

The event was organized with the blessing of Metropolitan Volodymyr (Melnyk) and with the participation of the diocesan department for family and youth affairs. The program included meetings with clergy, psychological workshops, and participation in divine services.

According to the organizers, the time spent at the monastery helped the women step away, if only briefly, from their daily grief and find spiritual support.

Of particular importance to the guests was the monastery’s prayerful atmosphere, where they were able to speak with priests and spend time in the quiet of monastic life.

The eparchy emphasized that the Church will continue to support the families of the fallen, sharing in their sorrow and offering prayers that they may be granted comfort and strength.

“Such events are profoundly needed, because they help the families of fallen soldiers not remain alone with their pain, but to feel the support of the Church, the strength of common prayer, and the living care of Christian love. The Church is called to remain beside those who walk the hard road of loss, bearing witness to love, compassion, and hope in Christ,” the statement said.

As the UOJ previously reported, the brethren of the UOC’s Myltsi Monastery appealed to U.S. authorities for protection.
