The Odesa Eparchy of the UOC has completed a large-scale campaign to raise funds for young patients’ needs, the UOC Information Center reports.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, clergy and parishioners collected UAH 200,000. With these funds, the eparchy purchased modern respiratory masks and circuits needed for respiratory therapy.

The medical equipment has already been delivered to the intensive care unit for prematurely born children at the national hospital Okhmatdyt. This aid is vital for infants with chronic respiratory failure.

Head of the neuromonitoring office Roman Shevchenko thanked the Church for its help and stressed that the new equipment will make it possible to provide children with home ventilation. This will allow seriously ill infants to remain not in intensive care, but at home with their parents.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that UOC clergy in Poltava had delivered aid to hospitals and social centers.
