With Bandera, Ukraine will not join the EU, says Polish Defense Minister
The Polish Defense Minister stated that there should be no place in the European 'pantheon' for those who undermine cooperation.
The head of Poland's defense ministry, Poland's Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, emphasized that historical disputes and the glorification of Stepan Bandera are an insurmountable obstacle to Kyiv's European integration. This was reported by Polsat News.
According to the politician, there should be no place in the European 'pantheon' for those who undermine international cooperation, and therefore Warsaw will firmly defend its position when voting on EU enlargement.
"Ukraine will not enter the European Union with Bandera," Kosiniak-Kamysz said bluntly. He added that Poland is a full member of the EU and "no one will tell us how we should vote on the accession of any given country." In the minister's view, the current Polish authorities are acting far more decisively than their predecessors and are demanding that partners uphold the principle of solidarity.
As the SPJ reported, the head of the UGCC blamed Russia for the conflict between Poland and Ukraine.
